Astrobe for Cortex-M4 is now undergoing final testing with the initial release planned for late June / early July 2014. It is designed to be used with Cortex-M4 microcontrollers which have add, subtract, multiply, divide and square root floating-point instructions implemented in hardware. The performance comparisons that we have done indicate that floating point operations are about 10x-15x faster than they are with Astrobe for Cortex-M3. This is partly due to the comparative efficiency of hardware vs. emulated FPU instructions, and partly due to the fact that the hardware FPU instructions can be used in leaf procedures.
